#project-Pumzo

This project was commissioned by Pumzo, an up-and-coming marketplace for printing user-designed merchandise and other unique apparel. To attract potential customers and investors, they wanted to develop a full brand package and an X account. They also requested regular posts to boost engagement and visibility.

My contribution

In this project, I acted as a designer and a copywriter, developing brand essentials and delivering social media posts. I delivered a custom logo and devised typography and brand colors. For the X account, I created a fitting version of the logo, an account banner, and 14+ unique posts along with writing and imagery. I utilized AI generation models to boost efficiency and deliver unique visuals.

First, I researched similar brands -- marketplaces offering custom printing services. Pumzo is a crypto-focused company aiming to implement crypto payments, pioneering an approach of the future, where apparel can be easily customized, printed, and paid for with untraceable currency. It was essential to devise a captivating, even futuristic, presence on par with other crypto companies. I identified a suitable design and colors, taking inspiration from bold, vibrant colors reminiscent of futuristic cities.

With my client, we developed a structured approach, moving from brand package creation to social media posting.

Research & Structure

For brand package development, I focused on devising an attractive logo that hinted at the company's apparel focus yet showcased their futuristic approach. Using AI for brainstorming and concept refinement, I arrived at an idea to combine the outline of a hanger with the letter P, adding a small accent in the top right corner.

For typography, I chose a rounded, sans-serif, minimalistic font to stand out against the vibrant colors -- Dosis. The primary colors of the brand are violet purple and neon cyan, with deep purple and light blue as secondary colors.

For social media imagery, I decided to go with bold, attractive colors but made sure the brand appeared professional rather than friendly. I used geometric patterns, shapes, and forms to ensure sleek, modern presentation. I used 3D models and AI-generated images to complete the designs. In this fashion, I developed:

  • Logo & X account banner

  • AI-generated visuals, product mockups, vectors

  • Community engagement posts

  • Informational posts with statistics and visualisations

  • Minimalistic images to complement written content

As a result, I developed 14+ unique posts in line with the company's presentation and brand voice.

Copywriting & Brand Positioning

A part of my contribution was to deliver engaging posts, using my copywriting and marketing background. To do this, I first identified the brand voice -- overall more formal than informal, professional but warm, addressing the customers as a helpful hand, guiding them into the world of crypto-backed merch purchases. This was essential to ensure the audience viewed Pumzo as an accomplished brand with a strong, competent team behind the idea.

At the same time, since the crypto community appreciates companies knowledgeable about internal trends (i.e., memes), I made sure to incorporate some references to such trends. This helped ensure that Pumzo was seen as a brand created by other crypto-traders, not an external company looking to enter the crypto market without prior knowledge.
